Taste of Home Recipe Contest
We continued our partnership with Taste of Home Magazine to host the second annual National Girl Scout Cookie Recipe Contest. Contestants would create and submit original recipes with Girl Scout Cookies as a main ingredient. Experts from Taste of Home's test-kitchen would narrow down the entries to 16 finalists (4 per category) and our joint audiences would vote for the winner of each category.
Platform: GSUSA Facebook, GS Cookies Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest
Audience: Food bloggers + Girl Scout Cookie lovers
Results: We received over 340 entries and about 6,000 votes on the 16 finalists. Although we received less entries than the year before, the quality of the recipes increased thanks to the influence of food bloggers. The winning recipes will be featured in Taste of Home's March 2017 issue and year-round on the Girl Scouts website and Pinterest to help push sales during future cookie seasons.
My Responsibilities
Content creation: social toolkits for both national and 112 councils, graphics, photography, web assets, and blogs.
Monitored day-to-day social.
Approved submissions.
Drafted legal language and rules.
Worked with sponsor to align on digital/PR strategy, legal, and winner selection.
